Now serving: Curried Red Lentil and Brown Rice Soup (vegan), with Rosemary Foccacia??. What's a good soup without good bread? Come in to the Bistro and warm up: Wed.-Fri. 11 am.-2 pm.

Sat. market closing earlier: Sept. 23, 30 and Oct. 7 the market will be open 8:30 am. - 1 pm. Enjoy the last precious few

Breads at the market this Sat. (8:30 am. to 1 pm. !): Merloaf, our wine bread (below) with whole grain Organic Red Fife Wheat, Merlot flour that I grind from the skins and seeds of local grapes, and Merlot grapes - it has a beautiful purplish crumb, and a delicious earthy flavour; the Puttanesca Olive Bread, with Kalamata olives, capers and olive oil; our (NEW!) Chocolate Brioche; and the famous Jewish Rye with Caraway.

Now that the frantic pace of the summer has passed, I have more time to bake some of the ‘exotic’ breads in my repertoire. This is the Organic Kamut and Sorghum bread (below).

French Toast, made with our buttery Brioche, real maple syrup and a splendid array of fresh fruit. Rich, warm and custardy. Served Wed.-Fri. in the Bistro, 11 am. - 2 pm.
