This Thursday at The Cannery: Peach (below) and Cherry Clafoutis, flan-like cakes made with cream, eggs, sugar and almond flour (so they are gluten-free). They are 10 inches and can serve 6-8. $30 incl. tax. Wonderful for an elegant, cold dessert in hot weather. I'm also baking Mushroom Quiches to take home or for lunch in the bistro. .

There is no Downtown Penticton Market on Sat. because of the Canada Day festivities, so we will not be on Front St. and I will get my first two-day weekend in a very long time??. Instead, we will be open at the Cannery on Tuesday the 27th for retail and lunch until 3 pm. and on Friday the 30th until 6 pm., so you can pick up all your baking needs before the long weekend. Note that the JEWISH RYE will only be baked on Thursday and Friday this week so please reserve in advance to avoid disappointment! Come by for this delectable Israeli Tuna Sandwich!

I will have many delicious items available at the Cannery leading up to the long weekend, including Peach Clafouti, Cherry Clafouti and Rosewater & Pistachio Meringues (all gluten-free), Mushroom Quiches, and Spicy Pickles in jars. On Friday I will be baking the Beer Boule in addition to the Jewish Rye, Chocolate Babkas and an assortment of our popular Morning Pastries. There are also many items in our freezer to take home. We have four 8 inch Dark Chocolate Flourless Cakes available. They are covered in dark chocolate ganache, and are gluten and nut-free (and serve 16+). Please give us a day’s notice for decorating.
